The Founder
From humble beginnings coaching young athletes on local courts, Jayson Hook has built one of Australia’s most exciting high-performance brands.
In 2018, Jayson launched EJC Academy, a grassroots basketball and athlete development program designed to provide young people with elite coaching and a professional environment. What began as a small community initiative quickly grew into a thriving academy, producing talented athletes and creating opportunities for those who might otherwise have missed out.
By 2020, that vision evolved into the Universal Athlete Centre (UAC)—a ground-breaking concept that redefines what a health and performance facility can be. UAC was created to unite training, recovery, and athlete development under one roof, making professional-grade facilities accessible to everyday people and the next generation of athletes.
Jayson’s academic journey is deeply rooted in sport, education, and high-performance science, giving him the unique ability to bridge the gap between coaching and leadership. His studies have spanned sport coaching, teaching, and high-performance sport, equipping him with the expertise to build environments that foster both athletic excellence and personal growth.
His work has not gone unnoticed. Jayson was named a finalist in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards with Business News Australia, a recognition of both his innovation in the fitness and wellness sector and his commitment to building community-driven businesses.
Today, UAC continues to expand nationally, empowering athletes of all ages to train, recover, and grow in environments once reserved only for the elite. At its heart remains Jayson’s simple but powerful vision: to make high-performance living accessible to everyone, while inspiring the next generation to reach their potential both in sport and in life.
